At UM, we schedule 30-minutes for every haircut appointment and we work hard to maximize the value of every single minute for our clients.
TIPS FOR GREAT
UM EXPERIENCES
If you have a particular hair style in mind, we strongly encourage you to bring in a picture on your phone for your stylist to see. Pictures always help direct your stylist and her consultation towards the strategy that works best for your hair.
Please arrive 5-minutes early for your haircut. At UM, we start nearly all our appointments on schedule with many beginning a few minutes early. Haircuts that run on schedule afford your stylist the most opportunity to deliver a great UM experience.
Avoid wearing your hat on the day of your haircut. Hat head is real and it will always complicate your stylists general strategy. Our best haircuts always begin with clean hair that has minimal to no product in it.
SUPERVISION FOR CHILDREN UNDER 6
At Upscale Male, we value a relaxing and peaceful environment for our clients. For those reasons, as well as safety considerations, we ask that children less than six years of age be accompanied by another adult (who is not receiving a service) at that time.
Parents and family bookings
If you are making more than one reservation for your family, please schedule each appointment separately and individually under each family member's name. We do not offer haircut services to boys under 8.
Children on the salon floor
We do not allow young children to sit on a booster seat on the salon floor next to their father. We believe it is unsafe for children and a genuine distraction to our stylists who are working hard to offer great haircut experiences.

At Upscale Male, our customer service policy is rather simple, we stand by our work. Although we thoroughly train, promote and maintain high quality of service standards for all of our stylists, we can’t realistically expect a perfect haircut to walk out of our door every day. We recognize and embrace that tailored haircuts and styles across hundreds of hair types and head shapes, often result in a multitude of variables that can be occasionally overlooked, sometimes requiring a full reassessment and revision. We genuinely want our clients satisfied with the services that they pay for at Upscale Male, and we will gladly schedule a new appointment to allow for a full revisit of your recent haircut when desired. Our scheduling team can conveniently offer UM FlexBack appointments, which are full 30 minute appointments that are both no charge or tip allowed to our clients. Our salon generously compensates our stylists for extra FlexBack time spent with clients, thus ensuring they will be focused on addressing your concerns, and most importantly at no extra cost to you. All that we ask is that you submit your Flexback Request within 7 days of your haircut for our team to properly assess and address your concerns.

LATE ARRIVING APPOINTMENTS
We make our best efforts in trying to afford our stylists the most of your 30 minute appointment so they can offer tailored haircut experiences. We reserve the right to reschedule any haircut when a client is not in our salon by the start of their appointment time. Additionally, when a client arrives past their scheduled appointment time, we may not always be able to offer the requested shampoo, condition or hot towel service. When a client’s late arrival requires the removal of an add-on service from their appointment, our office will notify the client in person upon them arriving and getting checked in at the front desk.

Our office will make these discretionary decisions solely to prevent a ripple effect of late running appointments for the remainder of your stylist's workday. We value her time and yours and we understand the inconvenience and frustration that can be felt when your appointment is required to be rescheduled, even after you have driven to the salon. We hope to avoid that situation as much as possible and we strongly encourage our clients to arrive five minutes ahead of time, as most all our appointments run on time or often start a few minutes early.
